My Family Tradition: Easter :D

Hi guys!!!!! I decided to do my family tradition post about how my family celebrates Easter in America :D

By the time Easter rolls around, pretty much every store in America is decorated with pastel colors and bunnies :). I just love how bunnies and pastel colors go together. About a week before, my family usually goes to the dollar store to pick up some cheap easter decorations which are actually not that bad. Then we get out our own decorations in the basement and add the new ones to them. And the whole day we're decorating like crazy!

The night before easter, (haha I almost said christmas!) my mom boils about 6 dozen eggs. (They're white so the color is more vibrant) While she does that, my sister and I get out all of our mugs and open up the packets of egg coloring you can buy. The coloring comes in the form of little tablets. We drop a tablet in each mug, and then add white vinegar or water, depending on the type of coloring. Once you add the vinegar, the tablets start to fizz, turning the vinegar the specific color. Then when the eggs are done boiling, we use a scooper thingy that comes with the colors to dip the eggs into the mugs. About two minutes later we scoop the all of the rest of the eggs back out and they're different colors!

The last thing we do before we go to sleep is leave out all of the finished eggs out on the dining room table, along with a carrot for the easter bunny :). Then, when we wake up, my sister and I rush downstairs, each with a basket. All of the eggs we had colored the night before were hidden throughout the house. My sister and I race around the house, seeing who can find the most eggs. There are also baskets filled with candy and prizes hidden. Ones with ribbons tied around the handle are mine, and ones without are my sister's. My favorite easter candy would have to be Peeps. My sister likes the chocolate bunnies best. It takes about 3 weeks to eat all of the candy :).

A Favorite Spot! :D

One of my favorite spots is a city in Virginia (USA), called Williamsburg. I lived there for three years, so it's a place that's pretty special to me. Even though it's a rather small town, I was surprised by how many things there are to see and do there, and if you look at the pictures above, you can see some of the coolest things that I love about Williamsburg.

Some reasons that I love Williamsburg (and Virginia in general), is
1. How green everything is: with all of the forests in the area, trees, bushes, and grass are plentiful.
2. The seasons there: Summer is pleasantly hot, spring is beautiful, with meadows of flowers and little fawns and baby bunnies. During fall (autumn), all of the trees turn brilliant shades of red, yellow, and gold. And finally, at winter time it gets very cold and we sometimes get snow days!!!
3. It's rich history: All of it is very interesting to me, especially since in Colonial Williamsburg you can really experience how life was like back then.
4. Virginia has really nice schools and universities. I hope to got to college there one day.
5. The best part: Williamsburg VA, small as it may be, has a Busch Gardens Amusement Park, a Water Country USA waterpark, and a humongous hotel called the Great Wolf Lodge!!!!!!!! (pictured above)

These aren't the only great things about Williamsburg, but if you really want to find out what other surprises it has in store, you should go there yourself. I highly recommend it. :D
