A Wedding Story

This is the Wedding Story of my mom and dad :) .

Stephanie Slaymaker and Jim Baghdadi got married on August 19th, which is actually also my mom's birthday. They had been together for almost three years before they got married. They got married in Las Vegas, Nevada, and nobody came, because it wasn't like a traditional wedding. A justice of the peace married my mom and dad. They got married in Las Vegas because my dad said that they could have the wedding and the honeymoon at the same time. They got married in the morning, and that night they went to a casino and stayed in a hotel called The Luxor Hotel.

The groom  rented a white convertible, and the couple got married at a famous location called the little white chapel. Many movie stars got married there. The little white chapel is little, and white, and I think it's really cute :). My mom was wearing an ivory colored dress with lace around the neck, and my dad was wearing a navy blue suit. They drove up to a drive-through window and got out of the convertible. There was an older man at the window who asked if the couple wanted to start a family, then he got out the rings and asked them to say the vows. Then they put on the rings and then they kissed. There wasn't any music or entertainment, but after the ceremony they got their picture taken in a gazebo decorated with white roses. That night, they went to a really nice New-Orleans style seafood buffet for dinner.

Though this wasn't the traditional white wedding, my mom said that it was one of the happiest days of her life. She really enjoyed that the wedding took place on her birthday, and that the hotel they stayed in was in the shape of a pyramid. She said she wouldn't change anything about it. When I grow up, I don't want my wedding to be too crazy, or too boring, and I think that my mom's wedding was a great way to get married, although I would have maybe invited some more people. Even though my mom and dad are divorced now, they are still good friends and I'm glad that they had a really nice wedding.
